Mangaluru, Oct 28, 2025: The Puttur Sixth Additional District and Sessions Court has ordered that no coercive action, including arrest, be taken against Hindu leader and RSS functionary Dr. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat until the next hearing in a case filed against him over an alleged provocative speech.
An FIR had been registered against Dr. Bhat on charges of making a provocative speech. He had addressed a gathering during the Deepotsava event held at Uppalige in Puttur on October 20. The complaint, filed by Eshwari Padmunj, alleged that his remarks had incited religious sentiments and insulted women.
Following the complaint, the Puttur Rural Police had issued a notice directing Dr. Bhat to appear for inquiry. In response, he approached the court, arguing that the FIR against him was malicious and motivated.
The court has now directed the police not to take any coercive measures until the next hearing, which has been adjourned to October 29. The court has also issued a notice to the police regarding the matter.
