Mangalore, Jan5 ,2013: Corp RuPay Aadhar Card, a new product by Corporation Bank, aimed at providing hassle free banking services to the financially excluded and underprivileged sections of the society who have Aadhar number, was launched on Friday.
The card can be used at ATMs, micro ATMs or at Point of Sales terminals at Merchant Establishments or in the hand held machines used by Business Correspondents.
The Bank’s Chairman Ajai Kumar launched the product during “Viveka Darshana” a musical monologue on Swami Vivekananda’s life and thoughts, at TMA Pai International Convention Centre here on January 4, Friday. The programme was organised in connection with the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Swami Vivekananda.
Speaking on the occasion Ajai Kumar said the Bank too has incorporated the ideals of Swami Vivekananda considered the greatest social reformer, in its service initiatives. He also released a Hindi and English booklet on the teachings and philosophy of Swami Vivekananda.
The programme was earlier inaugurated by Sri Muktidananda Swamiji of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysore. K Ramamurthi, General Manager, Amar Lal Daultani, Executive Director and others were present.
The Bank also extended financial aid towards the social service initiatives of Sri Ramakrishna Ashram, Mysore, Navachethan Education Trust and Ladygoschen Hospital of Mangalore and Hope Charitable Trust of Kannur.
Renowned playback singer, music composer and actor Shekhar Sen presented a solo music concert on Swami Vivekananda’s life, philosophy and thoughts.
