Mangaluru, May 16, 2026: The Congress staged a protest in Mangaluru on Friday condemning the alleged NEET question paper leak and the recent hike in petrol and diesel prices.

The protest was organised by the Dakshina Kannada district units of the NSUI and Youth Congress near Kadri Circle in the city. Demonstrators raised slogans against the Central government and demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET controversy.

Several leaders, including former minister Ramanath Rai, participated in the protest.

As the protest meeting concluded, some demonstrators attempted to block the road, leading to tension at the spot. Police intervened and detained the protesters, following which a scuffle and pushing ensued between the protesters and the police personnel.

The detained protesters were later taken away in police buses.
