Congress never expected Salian to join JD(S) : Moily

Udupi, April 18, 2013 : Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas M Veerappa Moily has said that the Congress never expected that former minister and senior Congress man Vasanth V Salian would join the JD(S).

Speaking during the course of his visit to Udupi on April 17, Wednesday to campaign for the party, Moily said Salian had been given a chance to contest seven times by the party.  Pointing out that even the present Kaup candidate Vinaykumar Sorake had been denied chance to contest earlier , Moily said Sorake had then never thought of joining any other party but remained a sincere Congress man.

On this occasion, Moily also promised that a fast track court would be set up to initiate action against corrupt leaders in case  the Congress came to power.

He said if the Congress comes to power it will initiate stern action against those BJP leaders who have been named accused in mining irregularities.

Moily has also predicted that the BJP will be routed in the upcoming Assembly elections. He also charged the BJP government in the state of failure to use CNG for  the state road transport corporation buses.
