Mangalore, Apr 3, 2013: The members of newly formed Congress People’s Movement Committee of Mangalore Constituency will hold a meeting to nominate an independent candidate in the coming Vidhan Sabha election against Congress Candidate UT Khader at Swagath Hotel, Thokkottu on April 5, Friday at 5.30 pm.


Addressing the press conference held at Press Club on April 3, Wednesday, member of Ullal constituency Farooq UH, said that the congress party in Ullal constituency has become UT Khader and his family party since many years.

Farooq  said that the members of congress supporters who have been neglected by UT Khader and his supporters has formed a committee 15 days back comprising of 150 members. During the committee meeting, the congress workers will choose a candidate to contest Independently.


He said that neglected members of the Congress party will be not join or support any other party, hence they would support hardworking Independent candidate chosen by the workers.


UT Khader had not informed the congress members during election observers visit to city and secretly raised his name through some of his well wishers in the party.


Farooq also said that Khader had not even questioned about the fund amount of Rs 50 lakhs which was withheld by the state government implemented for the development of Ullal Dargah, but when his term came to end, he raised the question just for publicity and gain minority votes in the coming election, he added.


Committee members like Dennis D’Souza, Bawa Muhammed, Vincent Nazreth and Mansoor were present.
