Car rams into auto in overtaking bid; woman dies; 2 critically injured

Kundapur, Sep 02, 2023: A young woman who was travelling in an autorickshaw lost her life while her brother and a relative sustained serious injuries when a speeding car in its bid to overtake another car, rammed into the autorickshaw at Moodlakatte in Kandavara village of Kundapur taluk on September 1, Friday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Ambika (22) of Amparu village. Her brother Shantharam and relative Nayan Kumar have sustained serious injuries and have been hospitalized.

Ambika along with the other two was returning home in an autorickshaw after visiting a relative’s house at Vaderahobali when the mishap took place.

A car driven by Vasanth Poojary tried to overtake another car and in the process hit the car as well as the autorickshaw.

Kundapur Traffic Police have registered a case.
