Belthangady, Oct 29, 2013 : The Belthangady MLA Vasanth Bangera has received over 300 telephone calls since October 27, Sunday urging him to pressurize the government to hand over the Sowjanya case to the CBI.
Activists who are fighting for justice in Sowjanya case had given the telephone numbers of the MLA, Chief minister, Home Minister and DGP in the Facebook social networking site.
Appeal was also made to launch an SMS campaign to pressurize the government.
Accordingly, the MLA has been receiving calls from various parts of the state and also from overseas.
The MLA who has courteously replied to all the calls has also informed the callers that he has already written letters to the CM and Home Minister to stop the CID probe and hand over the case to the CBI.
The MLA has also replied that he will not rest until the case was entrusted to CBI.
If most of the callers expressed genuine concern over the slow pace of investigation, there were even some calls from miscreants who only aimed at harassing by making calls even in the dead of the night.
It is learnt, the MLA has also received over 600 SMSs.
