Moodbidri, Oct 31, 20013: The Moodbidri Judicial First Class Magistrate’s Court has dismissed the petition filed by the police seeking permission to subject the two prime accused in the Siddantha Darshana Mandir burglary case to narco-analysis test.
It may be recalled here that antique idols worth crores of rupees had been stolen from the temple nearly three months ago.
The police who intended to subject the prime accused Santosh Das alias Ghanashyam and Durg jeweler Rajaji Sanchethi to polygraph, brain mapping and narco-analysis tests had appealed to the court in this regard. However, the defense layers Nagesh Shetty and Arun Bangera had filed objections and argued that such tests were unnecessary now that the police have already filed a charge sheet. The court which upheld their argument, has declined permission for the tests.
It may be recalled here that the police who have recovered eight idols so far are yet to trace seven idols.
