Bantwal, Sep 25, 2025: Vittal police have apprehended a man who had been on the run for 10 years in connection with two robbery cases. The accused has been identified as Ashraf, also known as Chilli Ashraf (32), from Kuloor village in Manjeshwar taluk.
He was wanted for a case reported on August 7, 2015, when he allegedly threw chilli powder at Jagadish Kamath in Vittal town and committed a robbery.
Another case was registered against him on January 23, 2016, for breaking into a wine shop in Kolnadu village and stealing cash.
Since he failed to appear in court for both cases, a warrant had been issued for his arrest.
