Bantwal: Assistant Post Master missing with Rs 72,000 cash

Bantwal, February 24, 2025: An Assistant Postmaster serving in Sajipanadu village, has been reported missing with a cash of Rs 72,000.
The missing postman is Balappa Tegyal (28) of Rayabaga taluk in Belagavi district. He was serving in Sajipanadu post office since one year. On February 19, post master Asmina Banu had handed a postal bag asking him to hand it over to the Panemangalore Post Office. However Balappa went missing later on. His mobile phone was also found switched off.
The bag handed over to him was found at his rented house at Kanduru, but the cash was missing. Family members said he has not returned home.
Bantwal Rural Police have registered a case as per a complaint lodged by the Post Master.
