Mangalore, Nov 26, 2011: Pauline Publications and Communications organized Festival of Books 2011, which was inaugurated on the grounds of Milgares Church on Nov 26 Saturday.
Delivering the presidential address, Fr. Joseph Martis spoke about the value of books. Sr. Mariate, the provincial of the Sisters of Little Flower, spoke of the benefits of reading. Stephen Mendis, the chairman of Western Institute of Technology, appreciated the sisters for their contributions to society.
The Sisters of St. Paul Congregation organize this exhibition and sale every year. This years exhibition commemorates the 40th death anniversary of James Alberione, who founded the order. The event also aims to enhance public awareness on the importance of reading.
The Festival of Books will continue till Dec 4. A wide range of books for kids, youth, teachers, and parents are available on a wide range of topics. There are inspirational books, general knowledge books, collection of quotes and anecdotes and jokes, grammar books, self-development books, novels, and many others, which can be purchased at maximum 40 percent discount.
