Angelore annual feast. Fr Joseph Martis inaugurates new hall

Mangalore, Oct 3: The parishioners of the Guardian Angel Church in Angelore celebrated their annual parish feast on Oct 2, Saturday. A thanksgiving mass was offered with Dr. Joseph Martis, the rector of St. Joseph Seminary, as the main celebrant with 19 other priests concelebrating. Over 3000 parishioners celebrated the feast.

 

 

As part of the celebrations, Dr. Joseph Martis inaugurated the recently renovated Golden Jubilee Hall of the Guardian Angel Church. Fr. Stany B. Lobo, the parish priest of Angelore, blessed the new hall. The Platinum Jubilee Memorial scholarships were distributed to deserving students to help them pursue their higher studies. A new cassette by Melwyn Peris containing songs in honor of Wilfy Rebimbus and on victims of the Mangalore plane crash of May 22 was also released on the occasion.

Fr. Stany B. Lobo; Fr. Gratian Alvares, the assistant parish priest; Jossy D’Souza, the vice president of the parish council; and the members of the parish hall refurbishment committee, which included Edwin Cutinho and R. P. D’Souza, along the members of the parish council were also present.

A fancy fete and group games organized by CLC, the parish youth group, also formed part of the celebrations. The CLC also organized a children’s talent show called “Baal Angelore” in the new parish hall.
