Mangaluru, June 21, 2026: A total of 4,343 candidates appeared for the NEET re-examination conducted at 12 centres across Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, while 1,227 of the 5,570 allotted candidates remained absent, according to an official statement.
The highest attendance was recorded at St. Aloysius Pre-University College ‘A’ Block, where 563 of the 720 allotted candidates appeared for the examination. PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Mangaluru, registered the lowest attendance, with 180 of the 218 allotted candidates taking the test.


Candidates were allowed entry only after verification of their NEET admit cards. Examination officials closely monitored gates and corridors, while invigilators and staff supervised candidate movement and ensured adherence to examination guidelines.
St. Aloysius Deemed-to-be University Campus and St. Aloysius ‘A’ Block had the highest intake capacity, accommodating 720 candidates each. Absentee counts at these centres stood at 175 and 157, respectively. At Dayananda Pai–Sathish Pai College, 465 of the 600 registered candidates appeared, while 135 were absent.
Government College, Balmatta; St. Agnes College; St. Aloysius PU College; University College; and Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 each had seating arrangements for 480 candidates. The number of absentees at these centres was 111, 97, 100, 101 and 115, respectively.
At Vidyadayini High School, 330 of the 432 registered candidates appeared, while 102 were absent. Kendriya Vidyalaya-2 recorded the lowest absentee count, with only 38 candidates missing the examination. At Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mudipu, 188 of the 240 allotted candidates appeared, while Government PU College for Women reported 44 absentees out of 240 candidates.
Pleasant weather conditions throughout the day facilitated smooth travel and waiting arrangements for candidates, parents and examination personnel.
