‘All district offices should move to Praja Soudha as early as possible’

Mangaluru, May 16, 2025: MLC Ivan D’Souza said all district-level offices should move to the new ‘Praja Souda’ in Padil as early as possible to help people access government services under one roof.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the Praja Soudha on Friday. It, among other things, accommodates the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

 
Talking to reporters here on Thursday, Mr. D’Souza said more than 60% of the district offices have already moved to the new building. Bus facility will be provided for residents from far-flung areas of the district to reach the new building.

While asking for more funds for the region’s development, Mr. D’Souza said he would ask Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to hold a separate meeting in Manglauru in the coming days to review the development works.  

MLC Manjunath Bhandary has written to Mr. Siddaramaiah to hold a separate meeting with all stakeholders involved in development of Dakshina Kannada.  

Mr. Bhandary told reporters on Wednesday that Mr. Siddaramaiah will distribute RTCs to 8,000 people following the inauguration of Praja Soudha. He also said tourist taxis and other relief materials will be distributed to around 2,000 social scheme beneficiaries.
