Jaipur, Nov 10, 2025: Over a week after a nine-year-old girl jumped to her death at a private school in Jaipur, an audio recording has surfaced, revealing her struggle with attending classes after the school’s inaction on bullying. In this year-old recording, the child tearfully begs her mother not to send her back to school and to enrol her somewhere else.
“I don’t want to go to school. Please don’t send me," she said, a chilling echo of the ordeal her family now says was ignored for over a year.
The girl ended her life on November 1 after falling off a fourth-floor parapet inside Neerja Modi School. The girl fell from a height of about 48 feet. Although she was rushed to the hospital, she was declared dead on arrival. CCTV footage captured the incident, showing her climbing the railing before her fatal jump.
‘No Action Taken’: Family Disappointed Over ‘Slow’ Probe
Since then, the police and education department have launched separate investigations, but the family alleges both are progressing at a painfully slow pace.
Speaking to Times Of India on Sunday, the girl’s uncle, Sahil Dev, said that the disturbing audio was recorded in July last year.
“She was facing constant bullying for over a year. We informed her class teacher about it, but she didn’t pay attention," he said, adding that the family even tried to get her enrolled in another school, but that didn’t work out.
Dev expressed shock at the attitude of the investigators. “One member of the education department’s probe team even remarked, ‘Why did the girl celebrate Halloween?’ — a completely irrelevant and insensitive comment," he said.
He further mentioned that one of the teachers admitted to investigators that the child was bullied at school. “Even after this, no action has been taken. Nine days have passed," Dev said.
Teacher Ignored Complaint, Alleges Family
The family asserted that they had approached two class teachers previously to address the bullying issue, but their pleas went unheard.
It is learnt that on the day the student took the extreme step, she was bullied by certain people, and the issue was ignored again, which led her to step out of her class. Further, a teacher also admitted that she came to her and complained about some people disturbing her and using bad words.
When the police arrived at the scene, they found that the area where the minor fell had been cleaned, with no visible bloodstains. The family, subsequently, filed an FIR against the school administration, alleging that her death occurred under suspicious circumstances and calling for an investigation into the teaching staff’s role. The school administration has been accused of being uncooperative and silent on the matter.
The Joint Parents’ Association also accused the school of destroying evidence and has demanded a fair investigation and strict action. Arvind Agarwal, the chief of the association, mentioned that they learned from the deceased’s uncle and other children that she had been harassed for one to two years.
