BJP Chief Nitin Nabin accuses opposition of trying to divide the Country

Hyderabad, Jun 30, 2026: BJP president Nitin Nabin on Monday launched a sharp attack on the opposition, alleging that "virus and cockroach people" are trying to weaken and divide the country.

Addressing BJP booth presidents, tribal leaders in Warangal, and students during his three-day visit to Telangana, Nabin claimed that only BJP workers could counter such forces and safeguard national unity.

"People like virus and cockroach are entering the country. They want to hollow out and divide the nation. BJP workers alone can teach them a lesson," he said while addressing party workers.

Taking a swipe at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Nabin described him as a "part-time politician," contrasting him with BJP workers whom he said were dedicated full-time to politics and public service.

Referring to former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao, Nabin alleged that the Congress failed to honour the late leader despite his contributions. He claimed that the Congress leadership respected only members of the Nehru-Gandhi family and ignored other senior leaders.

Nabin said it was under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership that Narasimha Rao was honoured with the Bharat Ratna, despite what he described as Congress’s neglect of the former Prime Minister.

Criticising the Congress government in Telangana, he alleged that the party had failed to fulfil key election promises, including providing two lakh government jobs. He also accused the state government of prioritising political interests over governance.

On reservations, Nabin opposed the state’s decision to provide reservations for Muslims under the Backward Classes category, stating that the BJP would not support religion-based reservations that, according to him, reduce opportunities for other communities.

Calling on party workers to establish a "double-engine government" in Telangana, he said such a government was essential to achieve the goals of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Telangana.

Highlighting the NDA government’s achievements, Nabin spoke about welfare initiatives such as the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and claimed that the government had helped lift over 25 crore people out of poverty.

Interacting with students, he said India’s Generation Z should focus on building careers and contributing to national development rather than questioning the country’s Constitution and culture. He also criticised what he termed the "tukde tukde gang" mindset, accusing such groups of promoting divisive politics.

Addressing tribal community leaders, Nabin claimed that the BJP government in Chhattisgarh had made significant progress in tackling Left-wing extremism through development and security measures. He alleged that the subsequent Congress government had supported Naxal elements, while asserting that the BJP had resumed effective anti-Naxal operations after returning to power.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar criticised the Warangal police after members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) staged a protest during Nabin’s visit. According to his office, despite prior information about the planned protest, the police failed to take adequate preventive measures, and central intelligence agencies were examining the alleged security lapse.

The Congress said the NSUI workers protested against issues including alleged question paper leaks, irregularities in competitive examinations, and rising unemployment. The protesters waved NSUI flags and raised "Go Back" slogans as Nabin’s convoy passed through Warangal.
