Vanya Charana Balaga launches post card campaign against Yettinahole project

Mangalore, Aug 17, 2013: A Post Card Campaign opposing the Yettinahole Project was launched by Vanya Charana Balaga and Karavali Yuva Sinchana  near Kadri Park on August 17, Saturday. The campaign was initiated in a unique way with  an ‘Aati Kalanja’ ( A Tulunad folk character) distributing post cards to the public present at the venue.

 

Dinesh Holla of Vanya Charana Balaga, said it indeed is a regret that none from DK have submitted a memorandum to the government seeking dropping of the Yettinahole project while there are many from Chikkaballapur, Bangalore Rural, Kolar and Tumkur who have demanded water.

He said the post card campaign is a small attempt to draw the attention towards the opposition to the project.

He said the campaign will try to sensitize the people on the hazards of the project and added it will be held throughout the district.
