Udupi, December 20, 2025: Young entrepreneur Sushanth Brahmavar has gained widespread acclaim for setting a new record by writing all the shlokas of the Bhagavad Gita in a single sitting.
On December 22, 2024, Sushanth completed the entire text of the Bhagavad Gita in just 5 hours and 30 minutes using a pen on paper at the Udupi Sri Krishna Matha Temple. The record attempt was undertaken as part of the Koti Geetha Lekhana Yajna initiative.
For this remarkable achievement, he was honoured with the title of ‘IBR Achiever’ and secured entries in both the Worldwide Book of Records and the India Book of Records. His feat surpassed the previous record of eight hours, which had been set by students of a Patanjali Gurukul.
Aged 35, Sushanth is a native of Brahmavar in Udupi district. He is a member of the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry and serves as a committee member of the BJP OBC Morcha in Udupi district. An alumnus of Sri Poorna Prajna College and Sri Poorna Prajna Evening College, Udupi, he is actively involved in business at the A.P.M.C. Market Yard.
In recognition of his accomplishments, Sushanth was recently honoured with the Udupi district-level Karnataka Rajyotsava Award 2025 by the district administration. He also received blessings from Pejawar seer Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji for his achievement.
