Sunni scholar Kalambadi Mohammed Musliyar is no more

Mangalore, Oct 3 ,2012 :  Kalambadi Mohammed Musliyar, the widely renowned South Indian Sunni scholar, died at the age of 78 in a private hospital at Perinthalmanna on the afternoon of Tuesday. His mortal remains were laid to rest in Kalambadi on the morning of Wednesday.


mohamad 11The aged scholar suffered a heart attack on Monday night, after which he was immediately rushed to hospital.

He was the president of the Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulema, a religious organization of E. K. Sunni Muslim scholars and clerics, from September 2004 till the day he died.

He was born to an orthodox Muslim couple in Kalambadi, and after completing his primary studies, he went to Baqiyathu Swalihath in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. He returned to his native place after completing his education there.

He was elected to the Advisory Council of Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulema early in 1978 and was elected as its president in 2004.
