Mangalore, Feb 13, 2012: The supporters of ex District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar, who resigned because he was alleged to be involved in the porn-viewing episode in assembly, and the members of the J. Krishna Palemar Abhimani Balaga organized a silent protest rally on Feb 13 Monday from Ambedkar Circle to DC’s office.
Speaking on the occasion, Shankar Bhat, the former mayor, said that there is no evidence to prove that Palemar was involved in the porn-viewing episode and alleged that certain people, who are jealous of his political success, have conspired against him.
Expressing his appreciation of Palemar, he said that Palemar is responsible for a number of developmental projects in DK and that it is impossible to imagine Mangalore without him. Accusing the media of spreading false allegations, he said that Palemar, who was seated far away from the guilty MLAs, was made the scapegoat.
Aziz Baikampady of the BJP minority wing said that DK requires Palemar’s leadership and that the post of district-in-charge minister must be restored to him once the investigative report is submitted on March 31.
Kumble Sundar Rao, the president of the Karnataka Yakshagana Academy; former mayors Rajani Dugganna and Ganesh Hosabettu; corporators Tilakraj, Madhukiran, Shakuntala, Bhaskar Chandra Shetty, Pushparaj Shetty, Mohan Padil, and others, were also present.
