Mangaluru, Mar 30, 2022: The SDPI staged a protest near the Clock Tower in the city on March 29, Tuesday demanding justie to the family of Dinesh who was assaulted by a BJP worker at Kanyadi near Dharmasthala, resulting in his death.
A protest march was taken out from B R Ambedkar Circle to Clock Tower. Meanwhile, in Belthangady SDPI leaders met the family members of the victim and even commenced a vehicle rally which culminated in Mangaluru.
Addressing the protestors, SDPI State President Abdul Majeed questioned the policy of discrimination pursued by the government while providing compensation to the families of deceased. While the family of Harsha killed in Shivamogga got Rs 25 lakhs, the family of Dinesh who is a Dalit has got nothing, he said.
Several SDPI leaders also spoke during the protest.
