SDM College organizes national conference on developing global mindset

Mangalore, Feb 6, 2012: The SDM Post Graduate Centre for Management Studies and Research inaugurated a one-day national conference titled “Developing Global Mindset” on Feb 6 Monday.

The event comprises a number of sessions on how to face the challenges posed by globalization, adapting to different cultures at the workplace, and generating excellence in management education. Besides, the event will include spiritual discourses too.

 

Delivering the inaugural address, Ajay Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director of Corporation Bank, spoke of the requirements of a highly competitive atmosphere. Stating that today’s knowledge is tomorrow’s ignorance, he urged students to keep themselves updated on a wide range of subjects related to their area of study.

Predicting major shifts at the workplace, he said that adaptation to different situations is essential for success and survival. He also said that modern economy is being driven by globalization, technology, demography, society, and innovation. 
 
V. S. Chandrashekar, the country advisor for David and Lucille Packard Foundation; Anil K., the senior regional manager of Indian Overseas Bank; Dr. B. K. Ravindra, the principal of SDM Law College; Dr. Devaraj, the director of SDM Centre for management studies, and others were also present.
