Mangalore, Nov 16: The Regional Conference of Lions International District 317 – D Region D was held at Urwa Church Hall, Ladyhill, on Sunday, 11 November 2012.
Regional President MJF A. Suresh Rai presided. The other clubs under the Lions Club Mangaladavi (the home club of the Director M.J.F Sri. A Suresh Rai) Region, Lions club Vitla, Kolnad Salettur, Mangalore Highland, Kudla, Pandeshwara, and Gandhi Nagara participated under the co-ordination of MJF Rama Mohana Alva. Well-known writer, educationist and litterateur of Bangalore Sri. H.S Lakshmi Narayana Bhat was the chief guest.
Members from Lions Clubs of Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu, Chikkamagalore, Hassan participated. ‘Tulunada Vaibhava’ an entertainment programme that displayed the speciality of rural life was staged on the occasion. Sri.Dharnappa and Sri Umesh, two agriculturists were honoured on the occasion. District Governor M.J.F M.B Sadashiva and First Lady Lion Harini Sadashiva donated sewing machines to BPL ladies.
