Mangalore, April 12, 2012 : Mangalore, Puttur, and Kasargod experienced light rainfall on April 11 Wednesday and on the morning of April 12 Thursday. Among the places that reported rainfall were Suratkal and Panambur. Overall, the district witnessed an average rainfall of 3cm.

Places such as Bunts Hostel, Pumpwell, and Kankanady witnessed heavy rainfall and people could be seen with raincoats and umbrellas. Lighter rainfall was experienced in Kavoor, Urwa Store, and Lady Hill.

Since the storm water drains are clogged with waste and mud, several shops in Gurupura, Kaikamba, and Bajpe had rain water inside their shops on Tuesday and Wednesday. Stationery shops, mobile shops, and hotels have reported damage because of artificial flooding.

Regions in North Karnataka also witnessed rainfall.


The Met Department has predicted that it will rain in the coastal regions till Friday.
