Puttur, Dec 30, 2021: CCB police of Mangaluru have arrested six persons from Puttur and Sullia on the charges of cheating a bank to by availing loans by submitting fake documents. The arrests followed a complaint lodged by Bharath Bank’s Moodbidri branch.
Those arrested are Rohitaksha K, a civil engineer from Puttur, Udaykumar from Kalmadka, Mohammad, Ashraf, Majeed and Dikshith.
The complaint had stated that loans to the tune of several lakhs of rupees were availed in the names of Majeed, Mohammad, Ashraf and others by Udaykumar.
It is learnt loans were secured in the name of six persons. Sources said the accused Udaykumar who was into real estate business in Puttur had resorted to such a step owing to financial issues.
The Bank’s Moodbidri branch’s erstwhile Manager Sudhir too was involved in this case. He had passed away recently. The present manager Ganesh Amin had lodged a complaint following which the six accused were arrested.
