Mangalore, April 12, 2013: Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar has informed that the four persons arrested in connection with the murder of Prashanth alias Pachu, the manager of Sri Adhinatheshwara Roadlines at Valencia in Mangalore, have divulged during interrogations that they killed Prashanth to avenge the murder of Bejai Raja at Falnir on December 1, 2012.
Speaking to reporters at the Mangalore Police Commissionerate office on April 12, Friday, the Commissioner said the arrests took place in a joint operation by the Mangalore South Police Station and CCB Inspectors under the leadership of ACP Mangalore South Sub-Division. The Commissioner said the arrested have been identified as Bhavanishanker, a resident of Tandolige Kottyappagudde in Jeppinamogaru, Praveen alias Munna of Goltamajalu, Naveen Shetty alias Pili Naveena of Akashbhavan and Bhavish alias Munna of Kasargod. All the four were also produced before media men.
The Commissioner said the arrests were made from a house near Kumble and that the police have recovered a pistol, four swords and a Qualis car from them.
On the pre-poll security arrangements, the Commissioner said there are a total of 782 polling booths in the Commissionerate limits and that of them 63 are sensitive and 135 hyper sensitive booths. He said the police department has also identified 456 rowdies and have made 300 of them sign bonds.
Mutturaya, DySP, Law and Order and Dharmaiah, DCP(Crime) were also present.
