Police informer turned thief Muneer attacked in prison by Malbari, 2 others

Mangalore, April 12, 2013 : Muneer Ahmed, a police informer turned thief, who was arrested by the Kadri police in Mangalore recently on the charges of several thefts, has been attacked in the prison on April 12, Friday.

Sources informed that Muneer was attacked by Rasheed Malbari, the notorious underworld don and two other under trials namely Madoor Isubu and Hyder. It is said the trio were agitated over Hyder and suspected that he was passing information to the Crime Branch Police who visited the jail regularly, regarding the goings on in the prison.

Muneer has been admitted to Wenlock Hospital. He was arrested on March 26 on the charges of stealing electronic goods from various shops in Mangalore. He was earlier a police informer and had even accused the police official for whom he was working of striking deals with the criminals.
