Moodbidri: Two arrested for illegal cattle transportation

Moodbidri, Jun 1, 2026: Moodbidri Police on Sunday arrested two persons and seized a pickup tempo that was allegedly being used to transport cattle illegally from Karkala towards Moodbidri.
The arrested accused have been identified as Jacqueline and Jackson, both residents of Karkala, police said.
Acting on credible information, police intercepted the pickup vehicle near the Alangaru underpass and conducted an inspection. During the check, officers found two cows and a calf being transported in the vehicle.
As the accused failed to produce any valid permits or documents for transporting the cattle, they were taken into custody by Moodbidri Police Inspector Rajendra, and a case has been registered against them.
Further investigation is underway.
