Bantwal, March 8, 2025: Diganth, a student from Kidebettu, Farangipete, who had been missing under mysterious circumstances, was found in Udupi on Saturday, March 8, after nearly 10 days. Police are currently working on bringing him back to Bantwal.
The case was taken seriously by both the state government and the police department, prompting an extensive search operation. More than 40 personnel participated, including 30 officers from the District Armed Reserve (DAR), along with railway police, the fire department, forensic experts, a dog squad, and drone surveillance.
Diganth, a II PUC student in Mangaluru, had told his family on the evening of February 25 that he was heading to a temple. However, he never arrived there and did not return home. His disappearance deepened when his slippers and mobile phone were discovered near the railway tracks close to his house, intensifying search efforts.
His safe recovery has brought immense relief to his family and the local community, who had been anxiously awaiting updates.
According to sources, Diganth was found in a shopping mall in Udupi City, where he was seen filling his bags with clothes. Suspecting his activity, the mall staff approached him, and upon interrogation, Diganth revealed his identity. The staff then immediately informed the police, leading to his safe return.
