Maruthi Yuvaka Mandala to organize 2-day Ullal Beach Festival

Mangalore, Sep 15, 2012 : Maruthi Yuvaka Mandala will organize Ullala Beach Festival on Ullala Beach on Nov 24 – 25, as part of its silver jubilee celebrations.

DC Dr. N. S. Channappa Gowda released the brochure for the Ullala Beach Festival at a launching ceremony held at Hotel Maya International on September 15, Saturday. He lauded Maurthi Yuvaka Mandala for organizing the beach festival and said that it will go a long way in promoting beach tourism in DK.

 

MLA U. T. Khader released the logo of the Ullala Beach Festival and said that it will promote the life and history of Rani Abbakka, queen of Ullal. Portraits and pictures of the queen will be displayed on the occasion, he said.

Delivering the welcome address on the occasion, Yathish Baikampady, CEO of Panambur Beach Tourism Development Project, said that 30,000 people are expected to take part in the festival, which will comprise events such as Dance Festival, Beach Games, Food Festival, Star Evening, Sand Art, and Kite Show.

Over 20 dance troupes will try winning the title at the Dance Festival. Over 100 teams will take part in the preliminary rounds and qualifying rounds of this Dance Festival. Previous winners have also taken part on reality TV shows.
