Mangaluru: Seized drugs worth lakhs destroyed by cops

Mangaluru, June 26, 2022: Narcotics including 53.128 kg ganja worth Rs 23,75,300 and heroin weighing 120 gram and worth Rs 30 lakhs were destroyed by the Police on June 26, Sunday on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The contraband which was seized by the DK police during various raids were destroyed in the Biomedical Waste Management, Processing, and Disposal Unit of Ramky Energy and Environment Ltd, after due permission from the court.

District Superintendent of Police Rishikesh Sonavane, Bantwal ASP Shivanshu Rajput, Puttur DySP Dr Gana P Kumar and others were present.

Meanwhile 25 grams heroin, 320 grams MDMA and 580.860 kg ganja seized in 95 cases in Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate limits were also destroyed at the same place. The destroyed goods valued at Rs 1,28,74,700.
