Mangalore: Shoot-out causes panic at Kadri Temple premises

Mangalore, March 31, 2013: There was panic at the  Kadri Temple precincts for some time on March 31, Sunday morning, as devotees heard the sound of a gun fire at the Durga Parameshwari Temple in the Kadri Manjunatheshwara Temple premises. Apparently, it seemed the gunfire was targeted at a particular individual.  A marble businessman named Prakash  noticed a bullet that landed close by him on the ground, as he turned around on hearing the sound of the gunfire.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

A police team lead by ACP Kavitha  rushed to the spot after the businessman intimated the police. A thorough probe  and a review of the CCTV footages of the temple may surely give some clues to the cops.

It is widely believed that  with this incident, the underworld elements have once again made their presence felt in the coastal city. The incident has also necessitated the Mangalore Police Commissioner to swing into action and crack down unlawful elements.
