Mangalore: SSLC exams begin amid strict vigil

Mangalore, Apr 1, 2013: As many as 35,061 candidates are appearing for the SSLC exams  in the district,  which began on April 1, Monday. Exams are being held in a total of 96 centres across the district. A total of18060 boys and 17001 girls are appearing for the exams.


Of the total candidates, 31,436 are regular students  while 1770 are private students and 1309 are repeaters. There are a total of 26 examination centres in Mangalore North Block, 20 in Mangalore South, 15 each in Bantwal and Puttur, 10 in Belthangady, 6 in Sullia and 4 in Moodbidri. Six exam centres in Mangalore North Block are reserved for private candidates from all
over the district.

As many as 8,49,571 candidates are appearing for the SSLC exams all over the state at 3,003 centres.

Director of Karnataka Secondary Education and Examination Board Venkateshaiah said that elaborate arrangements had been made to ensure that there was no malpractice.


The Board has also set up a helpline for the students. The helpline will function from April 1 to April 10 between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.


Students who wish to get assistance can call the helpline nos. 080-23310075 and 080-23310076.


An inter-district vigilance squad  and two more vigilance squads led by the DC, ZP CEO and DDPI respectively will be  monitoring the exam centres.
