Mangalore: Mixer grinders worth 4, 65000/- confiscated at Mangalore Railway station

Mangalore, April 23: 27 packs of Mixer grinders valued at 4,65000/- was confiscated by the Commercial Tax officials at Mangalore Central railway station in the evening, Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

The goods were said to be lying in the platform since morning unclaimed and there seems to have no documents attached to the consignment.  The goods were found by the officials on routine inspection conducted this evening.

 

 

There were a total of 162 Mixer grinders in 27 boxes. The total value the goods as per the MRP marked in the pack is Rs. 4, 65, 750/-  Mohmood Khan, the assistant commissioner of Commercial Tax Dept said that these boxes had no claimants and the source consignment is yet to be ascertained. 

It might have been brought by a regular tax evasion racket operating regularly in Mangalore. It could also be meant for free distribution among voters by some political parties. The goods have been seized and taken by the Tax authorities.

Investigation is on to trace the consignment details.
