Man found dead in mysterious circumstances

Udupi, March 29, 2012 : John Lewis of Santhekatte was found dead in his house on March 27 Tuesday at around 6:00 p.m.

Francis D’Souza (70) of Puttur lodged a complaint with the local police that he had found the main door of Mr. Lewis’ house closed. Someone had tied a rope made of old clothes to its latch and tied the other end of the rope to the window near the main door.

 

Stating that this made him suspicious, the complainant stated that he peeped in through the window and saw Mr. Lewis’ body in such a highly decomposed state that even the bones were visible.

He immediately informed Lucas, the community leader, and other residents in the locality.

As per the complaint lodged by Mr. D’Souza, the police registered a case of unnatural death. Details such as cause and time of death and the whereabouts of Mr. Lewis’ family are yet to be known.
