MP Nalin Kumar Kateel orders suspension of Neermarga PDO

Mangalore, Nov 20, 2012: Speaking at ZP review meeting held at the ZP Auditorium on Nov 20, Tuesday, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel ordered that a panchayat development officer (PDO) of Neermarga Gram Panchayath must be suspended for allegedly mismanaging funds.

The MP was responding to a complaint lodged by Rajeev Shetty that the PDO was mismanaging funds by issuing self cheques and making payments to unauthorized persons. He also complained that the PDO is involved in many corrupt activities in the Neermarga Gram Panchayath.

 

Speaking on the occasion, the National Highway Department officials said that emulsion patch work has been done to repair potholes that had appeared during the last rainy season so that vehicles can use the roads. Further, he said that the department has appointed a squad of 10 to discuss ways to effectively maintain drainage system and roads.

ZP CEO Dr. K. N. Vijayaprakash announced that a PDOs conference will be held during the first week of December.

Reminding the meeting that the Brahmakalashotsava of Vittla Temple is coming up, the MP urged PWD officials to complete the Vittla Road work at the earliest possible. The PWD officials promised to finish the work by the end of December.

Issues such as drinking water in schools and cleaning of lakes were also discussed.
