Mangalore, Dec 25, 2013: With an aim to strengthen the communal harmony, Mangalore south MLA J R Lobo, along with state minister for fisheries and port Abhayachandra Jain and other leaders of Congress celebrated Christmas in a unique way at Muslim Central Committee office, Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatheshwara Temple and Jamiyyatul Falah premises on December 25, Wednesday.

The leaders celebrated by Cake cutting and distribution of kuswar in three places. They also offered special prayers at Kudroli Gokarnatheshwara Temple.


Speaking on the occasion, MLA J R Lobo said that there is no fault in celebrating festivals of all religion, since all preach same values but in different forms. 


He also said that the communities like Islam and Christianity are almost similar and preach same values and teach us to live in peace and unity. The people of Dakshina Kannada must make an effort to kill all their hatredness towards other religion and live together as brothers and sisters with communal harmony.


Minister Abhaychandra Jain said that festivals always unite people and MLA J R Lobo has visited various places to share the joy and happiness of Christmas.
