Lifer for hubby for killing wife, dumping body in stream

Puttur, Aug 26, 2013 : The   Fifth Additional District Sessions Court here has convicted one Sulaiman  of Kadambu in Perne village in the case of killing his wife Ayisha (24) after hitting her head with a stone and then dumping the body in a stream at Pulittadi of Uppinangady.

The incident had taken place two years ago. The Court has sentenced Sulaiman to life imprisonment.

The Court has also directed him to pay a compensation of Rs one lakh to the father of the deceased. He will also undergo three years of rigorous imprisonment for destroying  evidence and will have to undergo an additional three year term if he  failed to pay the penalty.

It is learnt, initially Sulaiman had tried to prove  that his wife had committed suicide. The only witness to the case was Aman, the two year old son of Sulaiman and Ayisha couple. The little boy who had seen the father dump his mother’s body in the stream even now keeps calling his mother whenever he sees water, Ahmed Kunhi, father of Ayesha had told the court during hearing.

Ahmed Kunhi now feels justice has been done to his daughter. There were tears in his eyes when he said no girl should meet the fate like that of his daughter.
