Kundapur: Man washed away in Sowparnika river

Kundapur, June 26, 2013 : A person identified as Ramesh Poojari (38), a resident of Maranakatte has met a watery grave in the Sowparnika river.
It is learnt the mishap occurred when Ramesh who was on way home from the market decided to cross the overflowing river by wading through it to visit the nearby temple. But he was soon caught in the currents and drowned.
However, sources say he was under the influence of alcohol.
Though a search operation was launched for his body by the local divers, it has been futile until now. Kollur police have registered a case.
