Mangalore, Sep 14, 2012: Patyapusthakagala Kesarikarana Virodha Horata Samithi and Komu Souharda Vedike will jointly organize a seminar on September 16, Sunday against saffronization of text books.
Announcing the above at a press conference held in Hotel Woodlands on September 14, Friday, Suresh Bhat Bakrabailu, district president of the Vedike, alleged that text books of Std. V and Std. VIII have already been saffronized and other text books will be saffronized soon.
He said that the textbooks clearly illustrate that the BJP is trying to spread Sangh Parivar ideology and brainwash children. These textbooks are published against the NCERT’s National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2005 guidelines.
Speaking on the occasion, Walter Maben said that public awareness must be created regarding the saffronization of textbooks, owing to which a seminar will be organized at Loyola Hall on September 16, Sunday at 10:00 a.m. People from all over the state will participate and a book on saffronization will also be released on this occasion.
Alwyn Colaco, vice president of the Komu Souharda Vedike; Mohammed Kakinje, secretary; Nyzil Pereira, Denis D’Silva, Leena Fernandes, Victor D’Silva, and others were also present.
