Kaup: Man dies by suicide in Katapady, cites false allegations in viral video

Kaup, Sep 23, 2025: A 38-year-old man from Subhash Nagar near Katapady died by suicide on Sunday night after allegedly being distressed over false allegations.

The deceased, identified as Sheikh Abdullah, recorded a video before taking the extreme step, in which he named Misal, her mother, and sister, accusing them of driving him to suicide. The video has since gone viral on social media, sparking shock and concern in the community.

Following the incident, Abdullah’s brother filed a complaint with the Shirva police, alleging that the repeated false accusations against his brother led to his death. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation.

The tragic incident has highlighted the grave impact of harassment and unverified allegations. Authorities have urged the public to avoid spreading unsubstantiated claims that could cause irreparable harm.
