Kasargod: Cops arrest 4 for planning to loot businessmen

Kasargod, Oct 4, 2013: Kasargod  Police have arrested four persons who  had recently managed to give them a slip, while travelling in a Scorpio with lethal weapons in it. Though the police had seized the weapons and the vehicle, the four had escaped a few days ago at Kumble.

They were arrested at Kumble on October 3, Thursday. The accused have been identified as  Ashraf(28) of Belthangady, Narayana(25) of Bangalore, Kasim (30) of Belthangady  and Samshuddin (35) of Vittal. Two more are said to be absconding. The arrested were said to be  conspiring to loot the houses of the rich businessmen in Chattanchal and Uppala.

The police had earlier informed that the Scorpio vehicle seized from the four was stolen from Sakleshpur. Of the arrested, Samshuddin owned a quarry at Ukkinadka while Narayana  and Ashraf were quarry workers.

Police are on the lookout for one Ammi who is said to be the main accused in the case.
