Kasaragod, Nov 01, 2023: Kasaragod police on Tuesday registered a non-bailable case against BJP national secretary Anil K Antony in connection with sharing a post on X (formerly Twitter).

Kasaragod Cyber Police booked the BJP spokeperson under section 153 A of IPC, which deals with promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion.
The police had suo motu registered the case on October 28 and Anil was arraigned as the accused on Tuesday.
The case stemmed from a post on X on October 27 when Antony shared a video of women crating a ruckus on a bus. He shared the post with the comment “this is the brand of secularism that the INDI alliance led by Congress and CPI(M) want to bring to the national mainstream. No bus ride in North Kerala without a burqa.”
His comment drew criticism. The video showed college students, mostly Muslim girls, protesting on a bus. A woman without a burqa is then seen picking an argument with them apparently over their actions.
