Mangalore, April 12, 2012 : The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) organized a protest in front of the DC’s office on April 12 Thursday to demand for the public basic facilities such as property rights, ration cards, akrama sakrama, electricity, drinking water, road repair, and others.
In his protest address, KRV Honorary President Dr. Annayya Kulal said that the government must not privatize water supply.
They also warned that, if the MCC fails to meet their demands, they will organize awareness programs in all 60 wards coming under MCC limits.
Dr. Kulal said that the chief minister ought to understand the problems of the district better and work for their development since he belongs to the same district.
The protestors also submitted a memorandum to the chief minister through DC Dr. N. S. Channappa Gowda.
KRV members Suresh Acharya, Mohan Das Rai, Rajesh Bhat, Rajesh Kunder, and P. K. George were also present.
