Mangalore, Mar 3, 2012: Addressing the gathering at the graduation ceremony of Nitte Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences on Friday, Justice N. Santhosh Hegde, the former Lokayukta, spoke of the importance of professional and moral values among nursing graduates.
Stating that social values are on the decline, he said that it is the responsibility of graduates to uphold social as well as professional values.
Speaking on the occasion, Shantharam Shetty, the vice chancellor of Nitte University, urged graduates to cultivate the habit of comforting their patients. Stating that the nursing profession is more sacred than the doctor’s profession, he said that if patients recover, it is because of the service rendered by nurses.
