Mangalore, Dec 1, 2010: The members of the JD (S) organized a protest meet in front of the DC’s office on Dec 1, Wednesday against CM B. S. Yeddyurappa’s interference in the functioning of the Lokayukta. 

DK District JD (S) President M. B. Sadashiva said in his protest meet that the people expected a lot from the BJP when it came to power and that the BJP has failed to meet these expectations. Instead, the BJP has become infamous for its corrupt activities, he said.

Lauding the sincerity of the Lokayukta, he criticized the CM for his role is making the Lokayukta resign from his post. Flaying the CM for using chelas such as Suresh Kumar and Bachechegowda to handle various situations, he said that the BJP had no right to criticize Justice Hegde, adding that it is the party’s duty to safeguard the judicial system. 

Stating that Operation Kamala has made politics dirty, he said that the BJP is following in the footsteps of Hitler. Instead of organizing development programmes for the people of Karnataka, the CM is busy organizing programmes to protect his seats. 

Speaking in defense of Kumaraswamy and appreciating the work done by him during his tenure, he said that the people of the state still remember the JD(S) government and its developmental projects. 

Lauding Kumaraswamy for his philanthropic activities, he said that Kumaraswamy had recently helped a poor widow of Kalmada in Sullia and had deposited Rs. 3 lakhs for her children’s education, ensuring that the family would receive Rs. 3,000 every month. 

Gangadhar Ullal, Sushil Noronha, Aziz Malar, J. S. Noronha, Hyder Parthipady, D. M. Aslam, and Habib A. Khader also participated in the protest meet.
