House in Thokkottu partially damaged in fire

Mangalore, Apr 11, 2012: A house in Thokkottu was partially damaged in a fire that broke out on April 10 Tuesday.
The house, which belongs to Sheshappa, was located beside Nirmala Garage. Reportedly, the fire originated in the bathroom, where water had just been heated for bath, and spread all over the house before it was observed.
The local people and the fire fighting personnel worked together to bring the fire under control. Fortunately, the flames were put off before the fire could inflict more damage.
The family escaped unhurt, but the walls, tiles, and wooden beams of the house have been damaged. The financial loss to the owner has not yet been calculated.
