Mangalore, June 18, 2013 : Heavy rains that have been lashing the city since the past few days uprooted a huge mango tree which was standing tall and high near the Land Links Township at Derebail Konchady in Mangalore, on June 17, Monday.
The Kadri fire service personnel had to struggle for nearly two hours to vacate the tree branches that were lying on the road thereby obstructing vehicular as well as pedestrian movement.The tree was nearly 60 feet tall.
In another incident, a mango tree belonging to one Manjunath at Babugudde Ismail Ahmed Compound fell over a neighbouring house, thereby damaging its roofing. The Pandeshwar Fire service personnel rushed to the place and conducted relief operations.
