Mangalore, April 23, 2012 :A couple from the US was arrested by the Mangalore police when they were discovered taking bath together inside the bathroom of a men’s PG accommodation in Ujjodi.

The couple Jennifer Marie and Benjamin Charles Ford was let off by a warning from the police when it was revealed that they were a married couple invited to Mangalore by their friend Abhishek.

Three students from Kerala were staying in the room; however, when they left the room on the afternoon of Saturday, they informed the caretaker that Abhishek would be joining them soon and will be staying with them in the room. He also requested the caretaker to repair a broken water pipe in the room.

 

Reportedly, Abhishek who was standing outside the room when the caretaker visited it on the morning of Sunday ran way and the door was found to be locked from inside.

When nobody opened the door in spite of his continuous knocking, the caretaker was forced to break open the door. He was surprised to find a stranger inside, who was later identified as Poornachandra Tejaswi.

The caretaker was also surprised to find the door of the bathroom locked from inside. When he broke it open, he was surprised to find a foreign couple taking bath inside.

The news spread like wildfire and someone informed the police, who rushed to the spot and found some condoms and medicines in the room.

According to sources, the couple, who are doing their PhD, arrived at Mangalore on the invitation of Abhishek, who met them in Hampi.

The Kankanady police said that it was a small issue and no one was arrested. The couple was sent on their way to Kerala and Tejaswi was handed over to his parents.
