Speaking at the occassion of World Tourism day  District In Charge Minister Ramanath Rai said that, tourism has been sidelined in coastal belt, in order to attract tourists to coastal region myriad activities should be conducted through which tourism can be developed.

Speaking on " Tourism for all promoting Universal Accessibility" Tourism Lecturer of University College Shree Raj said that,
tourism has been economic power of the nation and if tourism develops then automatically country’s economy will also be developed.

President of Canara Chamber of Commerce Jeevan Saldana suggested that, today Mangaluru has been depicted as temple town and tourism need to be projected in coastal belt so that tourists will attract and choose Mangaluru as destination place rather than calling it as temple town.

President of Mantra Surfing Kishore proposed his plans to organise Indian open surfing next year at Shashihitlu. Surfing has been biggest boost for surfers all over India.

Indian open surfing will definately attract tourists to coastal belt in large numbers, this tournament is  estimated budget of one crore and also in coming days World Surfing league will be organised, he added.

DC Dr KG Jagadeesha said that, Mangaluru does not reflect large in tourism map so on this note tourism consultant group will be formed to promote tourism and brain stroming session and discussion will be held within 15 days of time.
